Privacy and Your Data

Menuvate · Last updated 19 October 2026

Your menus are yours. They are not visible to other Menuvate customers, are never sold, and are never shared with anyone else unless you choose to share them.

Where your menus live

Each Menuvate customer has their own separate storage area. Your menus, your competitor records and your uploaded files are kept in yours.

That separation is enforced by our server, not by the app in your browser. When your browser asks for data, it does not get to say whose data it wants — the server works that out from your access credential and will only ever return your own. There is no way to ask for another customer's menus, whether by accident or on purpose.

Who can see your menus

We do not sell your data. We do not use your menus to advertise to you or to anyone else.

Menu analysis and AI

When you run an analysis, write a description, translate a menu or use another AI feature, the relevant menu text is sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, to produce that result. This is what makes those features work.

It is sent to produce your result and returned to you. It is not used to train AI models. If you would rather a particular menu never be processed this way, simply do not run AI features on it — importing, editing, designing and printing a menu do not require it.

The shared competitor archive

Menuvate keeps a shared archive of restaurant menus that customers can search when adding a competitor. It saves everyone re-importing the same well-known restaurants.

Nothing of yours goes into that archive automatically. A menu only becomes part of the shared archive if you deliberately put it there — by choosing to share it from the review screen, or by having built it through the competitor tools before moving it into your own menus. Simply importing, editing or analysing a menu never contributes it.

What a shared menu contains. Only the public menu: dish names, descriptions, prices, price tiers, add-ons and dietary marks. Your food-cost estimates, POS numbers, edit history, spotlight marks and photos are never shared.

How long it stays. A menu you share stays in the archive until you withdraw it yourself, with Withdraw from Archive on the menu (or Withdraw on the competitor). Only the workspace that shared it can withdraw it. We may also remove anything shared by mistake or that should not be there.

Competitor menus in the archive are drawn from restaurants' own publicly published menus — the same pages any member of the public can view. If you own a restaurant listed there and would like it removed, email us and we will remove it.

Restaurant websites we read

When you import a menu from a web address, Menuvate reads that page in the same way a visitor would. We only read pages you point us at. For a small number of ordering platforms that do not permit automated reading, an optional browser add-on reads the page using your own browser instead; it is covered by its own privacy policy.

What we store about you

We do not ask for or store customer lists or employee information. Sales figures are stored only if you enter them yourself (for example, dish sales for profit analysis), and are treated like the rest of your menus.

Payments

Paid plans are billed through our payment processor, Stripe. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are held by Stripe, not by us; we never see or store your full card number. We keep only what we need to manage your plan: your billing name and email, your plan, and your payment history (for example, the card type, its last four digits and whether a payment succeeded). Stripe handles card details under its own privacy policy.

Access and credentials — please read

Access to a Menuvate account is currently by a single access code per account rather than individual logins. That means anyone holding your code has full access to everything in your account.

Treat the code like a key to the building: share it only with people who should see everything, and tell us if you need it changed. Per-person logins are on our roadmap.

Deleting your data

You can delete menus and competitor records in the app at any time. To have an entire account removed, email us and we will delete it, including stored files.

Menus you shared to the shared archive are not removed when you delete them from your own account, or when your account is closed. Withdraw them in the app first if you want them gone, or ask us before your account is closed.

Changes

If this policy changes, the revised version appears here with a new date above. We will tell you in the app if a change materially affects how your data is handled.
